How is The Guest Register different from the
others?
The Guest Register offers more functionality than most
competitors – usually at a lower cost. Use your site to coordinate your reunion
as well as to keep classmates in-touch between reunions. The Guest Register
allows all classmates to post a photo and biography and update them as often as
they wish. You will find that sites not only charge each classmate upwards of
$36 per person per year, but they do not offer much more than a way to email
your classmates.
With The Guest Register, you can easily create a site with as
many pages as you need. (No web development experience is necessary. We make it
easy!) Classmates can post all of their contact information and you have access
to it all without needing to purchase a premium membership or spend any
money. The Guest Register allows you to upload photos, post all events and even
collect payment from your classmates. No more cashing checks and managing all
the payments as they come in. The Guest Register will process all payments
through our secure credit card system and send a check to the reunion organizer
on a monthly basis.
-
Who will be able to view our Class Website?
All Class Websites are password protected so that only those
in your class can access your site. Classmates can choose whether they want
their contact information posted or not. If they do choose to share it on the
website, they can be assured that only those who know the site Event Number and
Password will be viewing the site.
-
How will our Class Reunion Website increase
attendance at our reunion?
As you know, it can be challenging to locate some classmates.
Once you have set up your unique Class Reunion Website at The Guest Register,
word will travel quickly through your class. People will find the site as they
hear about it from their friends and then you won’t have to find them! Also,
pre-reunion jitters affect many classmates before the big event. Reunions can
be intimidating. As classmates read the bios of their friends and are actually
able to contact them before the reunion, they become more comfortable with the
idea of showing up at the event. Traditionally, the number of attendees at
reunions declines as the years go by. You can prevent this by creating one spot
where classmates know to go each time the reunion year rolls around.
How Does It Work?
-
How do I get started?
Be sure to view the How It Works section on our site
for a concise, easy-to-understand overview of how the service works. After you
have filled in the Sign Up information, we will set your site up and contact
you with your unique Event ID Number and Password. With this information, you
can begin setting up your site. No need to have any web experience, our tool
makes it easy! If you need assistance just call us. You can upload your school
logo, accent your site with your school colors, post all reunion or other
activities, upload graduation or other past or current photos, and so much
more!
-
What information do I need to provide?

We simply need a contact name or two along with your school
name to get started. From there it is up to you. Post all of the information
that you wish to share with your class. You may include reunion dates, times,
directions, photos, fun facts from your graduation year, yearbook photos,
classmate contact info, volunteer lists, whatever you like…
-
When is the best time to put our site up?
Before a Reunion
We find many classes post their site several months to a year before their
reunion — in time to use the site as a “meeting ground” for the class to find
out information about an upcoming reunion, register for events and make
payments.
Between Reunions
Other classes get through their whole reunion and then realize how much easier
the planning would have been if they had a website. They will set the site up
after the reunion and include all the contact information that they worked so
hard to attain. They then communicate to their class members that they can keep
their contact information up-to-date until the next reunion. (This greatly
simplifies finding people for the next reunion.) Your classmates can even stay
in touch with each others’ updates by requesting an email when specific
classmates update their bio.
-
How can we use the site to recruit and organize
volunteers?

You can create a custom page using our proprietary WebBuilder
functionality. You can list all of your volunteer needs on this page and
request that classmates email you if they are interested. As classmates
volunteer, you can post their name to the appropriate task on the page.
-
We just had our reunion. Why is it a good time to
create a site now?

When classes discover our service after our reunion, they
often want to sign up right away. What a great place to post the photos from
your recent reunion! This gets your classmates to the site and helps you get a
jump on your next reunion. As you already know, planning a reunion is a time
consuming task. Collecting classmates' contact information alone can be
overwhelming. Using The Guest Register as a central database that classmates
can access every time their contact information changes, ensures that the next
reunion will be much easier to plan. Also, after a reunion many classmates are
excited to stay in touch. The site gives them a place to access the contact
information of their friends at any time.
-
How long can we keep our class reunion website up?

You may keep your site up as long as you wish. We give
classmates an easy place to keep in touch and up-to-date on each others’ lives
even if they can not keep in close contact. Many classes keep their sites up
for years so that each reunion they have an up-to-date database with which to
begin. It also gives classmates a place to check periodically from year to year
for reunion information.
-
How secure is our Class Reunion Website?

All Class Websites are password protected so that only those
in your class can access your site. Classmates can choose whether they want
their contact information posted or not. If they do choose to share it on the
website, they can be assured that only those who know the site Event Number and
Password will be viewing the site. Soon we will be adding a feature that allows
the reunion planner to determine whether they would like to give other classes
from their school access to their Class Website. We use Verisign state of the
art secure technology to process all credit card transactions, so your
classmates can be assured that paying online is safe and secure.
What Will Our Site Contain?
-
What can we post on our class reunion website?
You may post anything that you wish on your class reunion
website. Most classes include the details for all class reunion events. You may
also add your school mascot, school colors, photos from the past or present,
reunion volunteer needs, fun facts from your graduation year, class survey,
classmate accomplishments of note, whatever you wish to share with your class!
Your classmates each have their own page on your site where
they can post a bio and current photo. You may also choose to include their
graduation photo as part of their bio.
-
Can we collect payment for events on the class
reunion website?
Yes, The Guest Register is one of the only Class Reunion
Websites that offers a secure payment functionality that you can utilize to
collect up-front payment for events. Simply post the events that you wish
classmates to pay for along with their cost and we will collect credit card
payments for you. You can check RSVP and payment reports online at anytime 24x7
so that you always know who is planning to attend and who has paid. We will
send you a check each month for the monies collected.
-
Can we display photos on the site?
Yes, you can display graduation photos, old yearbook photos,
old snapshots as well as current photos and photos from your recent reunion.
The site accepts .jpeg and .gif files. If you do not have access to a scanner
for non-digital images, you may mail up to 35 photos to us and we will
scan and upload them for you. If you would like us to scan and upload
classmates’ graduation photos from your yearbook, these will not be counted in
your total. (While we will take every precaution to return the photos to you in
their original condition, we can not guarantee this.)
-
What information can classmates put on the site?
Classmates may post any biography information that they wish
to share from basic contact information (name, address, phone, email) to a
brief narrative about their life. Classmates find it fun to look up where their
high school friends have landed. Knowing more information on certain people
often makes it easier to get over those pre-reunion jitters and often increases
attendance!
-
Can classmates use the site to stay in-touch between
reunions?
Yes, classmates can access the site at any time to reference
any classmates' contact info and bio. (The only exception to this is if a
classmate decides that they do not wish their information to be viewable on the
site for privacy reasons.) One unique feature that The Guest Register provides
is the ability for classmates to elect to receive emails when specific
classmates update their bios.
-
Does The Guest Register offer privacy protection?
Yes, your data and that of your classmates is viewable only by
those who have been given your Event Number and password. Classmates can
dictate whether their contact information is viewable on the site or only
accessible by the reunion organizer. The Guest Register does not rent, sell or
in any way share any contact information with any other sources. Please see our
privacy policy for more information.
